2014 has been a year of creative growth for me up to this point.  While I adore working with families, kiddos, wedding parties, event and corporations, sometimes a gal just needs to do a personal project.  In June of this year, I made the commitment to myself that I would do one project every 6-8 weeks just for me.  To have fun, explore a subject, work with a beautiful model, expand my portfolio and so on.

As is usually the case when I get an idea, a name immediately popped into my head, Denyse!  My friend Denyse Angus is an amazing stylist and has some seriously stunning kids.  While she has primarily done styling for friends and family (including me for a family session several years ago), she is as gifted and talented as any professional I have ever worked with.  I shared with her my vision for my first several styled ideas and she set right to work.  Initially we were just going to do it with one model and focus solely on being creative and then, boom, another friend popped into my mind….Deseree Burjakowsky and amazing jewelry designer.  I called her up and asked if we could borrow some of her jewelry for the session.   Please go to her Facebook site and like Autumn Rain Designs!  It is truly stunning. Also, Denyse suggested we use her son Dustin in the background and my story came to life.

Here are my favorite images from the session.  I am also doing a couple of art pieces, that will take some time to create, but I will share with you in the future.  I want to give a big shout out Thank you to not only Denyse & Deseree… but to my beautiful model Ava, the handsome Dustin and to Jeff, Eden and Madison for helping me put this all together and dragging props down to the beach at 5:30 am!  Enjoy!

What do you get when you combine  7 girls under 7, lots of dolls, tons of candy from B Candy and attitude…… a “Sweet and Sassy” session for Adora Dolls 2015!  Here is just a little sneak peak of a few of my favorites from the day.  Thanks to Brooklyn, Kennedy, Payton, Hailey, Alexa, Marina and Keira!  You kids rock my world! :) Enjoy!

I love a fun modeling session either for an agency or just because.  Truthfully, I was a total Barbie lover when I was a kid!  I loved to dress up my dolls and play make believe.  I think these sessions are my chance to play dress up in real life.

This gorgeous gal, with the stunning ice blue eyes, has totally perfected the cute pout!  I can see her modeling surf wear or fun outdoor clothing.  Good luck to her!  Enjoy!

I love lots of personality… silliness…. sassiness…. kiddos with lots of character. These two cuties and their adorable Mama definitely fit the bill. Not only were their outfits outrageously cute, but we also giggled the entire session. This is one of my favorite type of family photography sessions. Lots of great places to shoot on and around the train platform and a family that is just enjoying being together.

It is once again the best time of year for family photography. If you want to book something really fun and creative, it is best to start planning now, as my schedule gets totally booked out in October and November. Enjoy!

Where did this summer go to??? It was too fast, and I want it back. Thank goodness that we still get amazing weather in September and October. I vow to spend a least one beach day before the leaves start changing color.

Anyway….one of my favorite things about being a photographer is the great friendships I have made over the years with my clients. I feel like a small part of lots of great families, being there to document the changes over the years both in how the kiddos look and how their personalities evolve.

I have been photographing this absolute beauty for many years with her gorgeous sister and family. I have never had the opportunity to spend a lot of one on one time with her, so it was such a pleasure to photographer her for her budding modeling career. She is a truly talented dancer and well as a natural beauty, so we focus the session on both.

Thankfully I had her sister and Mom to assist me during the session and we had lots of laughs getting the perfect expression. Thanks for making me a part of the Hulley family! Enjoy!
