Some weeks I look back and can’t believe how lucky I am to have such amazing clients in my life and such diversity in my work!  Really, this week we photographed two stunning weddings, three gorgeous families and one High School Senior.  To me it was a perfect week!  My personality is one where I love constant change, I get bored easily with work when I am not challenged. That is one of the reasons I am so passionate about photography. I am constantly learning and meeting new people and getting to be involved in new photography projects.

Still, portrait photography is my passion. I love any type of photography that involves documenting people and telling their story. I was so incredible blessed to be able to tell the story of Aaron and Kylie’s wedding day. These two amazing, enthusiastic and gorgeous people made the day so fun… it just flew by. I started the day with Kylie and all of her beautiful friends at Laguna Cliffs Marriott in Dana Point. It was a perfect spot to get all the girls together and get hair and makeup done. We followed this up by jetting to Kylie’s parents house to photograph the guys. Dad was an amazing Art Director and had all the scenic spots picked out to shoot before I even arrived. Believe it or not, the entire Groom’s session took about 20 minutes. Seriously John…. if you need another job, you are hired!

Finally on the the stunning Serra Plaza to work with LVL Events who did an absolutely amazing job creating a romantic, beautiful environment for ceremony. From the beginning to the end of our coverage of this event, what I can say stood out most for me was how much everyone loved each other and just really wanted to have a great evening. The only tears were tears of joy! Thank you to both families for letting me be a part of your day. Enjoy the sneak peak of just a few of our favorite images from the evening:

Thank you to all of the wonderful people who created such a magical day!

On our first, very hot, weekend of the summer we had the honor of photographing Corbin and Carly’s wedding at The Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach. We started off with just a couple hiccups…. the limo driver locked his keys in the car when he went to pick up Carly, so she drove herself to the wedding, BUT she was incredibly calm and composed about the whole situation.

Carly had an infectious smile and a quick laugh which made the day so fun and relaxed. She wanted to surprise he Dad once she was all fixed up and in her gorgeous wedding dress. Immediately they were both in tears and so sweet together.  She also did a fun meeting with Corbin before the wedding (who she had not seen for 2 months, as he was deployed) where they held hands and told each other how excited they were to get married, without actually seeing each other before the ceremony.

Corbin was quiet and a little shy in the beginning. Obviously nervous and excited about his wedding day. I was told in advance that he would not smile with his teeth (which I took as a challenge). As you can see… we got LOTS of Corbin smiles. Overall Robyn’s Event Planning and An All Inclusive Event did a fabulous job with this Rustic Romantic wedding and we had a blast. Enjoy the sneak peak and don’t forget to watch the wedding slideshow at the end for event more beautiful images! redhorsebarnweddingphotography_0001redhorsebarnweddingphotography_0002redhorsebarnweddingphotography_0003redhorsebarnweddingphotography_0004redhorsebarnweddingphotography_0005

What a fabulous summer it has been so far!  Portraits and high school senior sessions and weddings, oh my! :)  If you haven’t already heard, I am lucky enough to have partnered with wedding photographer Emily Ivey of Fresh Ivey photography to create a whole new, luxury wedding photography experience called “Bliss” by Blue Sky’s!  We have a brand new website and blog showcasing our beautiful weddings in Orange County and the rest of the country.  Here is a teaser, but please go and visit the full post at our BlissbyBlueSkys blog! Sometimes, out of a bad situation comes something fabulous!  That was definitely the case with Ro and Joe.  This fantastic couple had the unfortunate experience of hiring a photographer who disappeared once he received a payment…total bad situation.  My gal Berit from Makeup by Berit, came to the rescue by suggesting the couple contact Blue Sky’s Studio to see if we had the date open.  As look would have it, we did and that led to us getting the opportunity to photograph them (yeah!)….fabulous!  The rest is beautiful history.

We were lucky enough to shoot their wedding at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano (our home away from home).   AND the icing on the cake was that we staged a First Glance at the Mission in San Juan, one of my favorites spots in the whole world….so all of the fabulous wedding portraits were complete before the ceremony…. which gave Ro and Joe lots of time to enjoy partying with their close friends and family.  Enjoy the images from the day and a BIG THANK YOU to BERIT!!!!!
