This was the shoot that almost didn’t happen!  Bob and I had a relaxing dinner with the Chris, Mary Pat and family and I thought I would be able to do a quick beach shoot immediately after.  However, the weather was NOT cooperating last week.  It is a good thing that this fantastic family was soooo flexible!   They were only in Laguna for a week and we managed to squeeze in a great photo shoot on the last night of their trip.  Better to wait for beautiful lighting than to have so so images.  Well I think waiting paid off!  Thanks for coming out to play on the beach with me.  I can’t wait to finish the wall collage for Pete and Gerry!

I was a little worried about this shoot.  The weather has been so BLAHHHHHHH and these two made the trek down from Valencia to meet me and (lucky for me) they trusted me enough to book their engagement shoot on the same day.  Believe it or not at 3:00 PM on Sunday, the sun peaked through the clouds for the first time in two weeks in Laguna and we were able to get tons of great shots.  I always think it is fun when the couple in nervous about the pictures when they first arrive and then within 10-15 minutes they are laughing and enjoying each other.  This was so true for Kristen and Kirk.  I felt like they were old friends, and Kristen even dealt with bugs (don’t tell her, but Anna and I did see many spiders during the shoot) and Kirk fought off bees.   They are getting married next year at one of my favorite venues, An All Inclusive Event at Laguna Village and I know that they weather good fortune will follow them to their wedding day!  Thanks to both of you for being such good sports!

Wow, how these four kids have grown!  The oldest gal was one of our first Blue Sky’s clients and I definitely think she has mastered the high fashion pose!  Here three brothers are full of energy, but just great to work with.  We hauled all kinds of things into the canyon to match previous photographs of each child at 2 years old.  Well, we didn’t match 100% as the baby was NOT going to wear overalls…….no matter what!  Fortunately for me, he fell for the old candy in the pocket trick!  Thanks so much Jill for being a loyal Blue Sky’s client for so many years!  LOL!

I am sure you will recognize this beautiful couple!  Last year I captured A.J. asking Dana to marry him at the mission, after that we did a fun engagement shoot at the “Fun Zone” in Newport Beach, followed by a pinup shoot in my studio!  Well, they finally tied the knot and what an amazing affair!  Dana wanted to create a 1940s vibe and she definitely succeeded!  Everything from her dress, to the vintage airplane and car to the photo booth at the event was perfect!  One of my favorite things was the In and Out Burger truck!  Now that is what I call great wedding food!  And of course an AJ & Dana event would not be complete without their baby!  I am sure you can figure out who that is!  Thanks for a ton of fun!

We just got back from Austin, Texas!  It was a great trip and I am in love with the city.  If it wasn’t for my LOVE of the ocean, I would seriously considering moving.  I have a lot of blogging to do in the next few days so you can see what we were up to before I left.   This first wedding was one of the few occasions when I was a second shooter for a good friend of mine Carolyn Rife!   It was a lot of fun to get to work with all the guys and seriously this was a gorgeous wedding party!  I think it is always inspiring to get to see another professional photographer in action.  I think we fed off of each other and I hope she had as much fun as I did.  Enjoy the images.  As you can see, I was working with a lively crew!
