Table Rock Beach High School Senior Guys session

High School Senior guy portraits at Table Rock Beach

I am often ask why I love photographing high school seniors at Table Rock beach, especially the guys.   This Laguna Beach destination not only has a beautiful sandy beach, but also lots of rock formations to give more interest to the portraits.  There are patches of flowers and green as well as a cave with a burnt black background.  This beach is as close as your high school senior portrait session will get to both a beach and an urban environment.

For Stephen’s session he decided to mix up a casual look, with a more formal look at the beach.  In order to make the suit feel authentic, we loosen his tie and untucked his shirt.   Of course we also incorporated a lot of UCLA gear.  Here are a few of my favorites from the session.  Enjoy!

Laguna Canyon High School Senior Pics session

Victoria’s high school senior pics in Laguna Canyon

This year’s high school senior pics have been a little different.  Since we were closed from March to the end of May, most of our class of 2020 sessions happened right before graduation, or even after the senior had graduated.  In addition to the Covid crisis, I got really sick and missed most of February.  So, our annual senior styled session giveaway didn’t happen.  However, we were still able to gift the winners their own personal senior photography session.

Victoria was one of the winners from our giveaway.   Her style and personality worked really well with a natural backdrop.  Laguna Canyon is the ideal spot for a Boho Inspired photography session and Victoria was a natural in front of my camera.

Mission San Juan Capistrano for Senior portraits

The Mission in San Juan Capistrano makes the perfect backdrop for a high school senior portrait session.  The open arch ways, bell tower fountains and gorgeous garden areas never disappoint.  I especially like this location when photographing high school senior guys.  The textured walls and door ways make it easy to pose them in a relaxed style.  After all, leaning on a wall with hands in pockets is typically how a teenage guy stands.

For Kyle’s session, he got to have the run of the Mission.  Because of Covid-19 the Mission has been closed to the public on Monday- Wednesday, but they have still allowed photographers to book reservations.  While I do think guys enjoy their portrait session, they definitely don’t want it to take too long.  That is another great thing about the Mission, everything is in a reality small location.  We were able to photograph a lot of variety for Kyle in a short period of time.  This was a win/ win for both Kyle and his sweet Mom.

Destination Laguna Beach for High School Senior Portraits

Orange County High School Seniors often want to book their session in a field or at a cool city background.  Since Orange County beaches are in our backyard, it doesn’t seem as special of a location for a session.  But graduates from out of state dream of having their session at one of our spectacular beach locations.  Whether they book at Table Rock Beach, The Montage Resort Beach or Picnic beach, the background never disappoints.

Isabella’s Mom booked a last minute beach session while visiting Laguna Beach.  She grew up in Orange County and then moved across the country to New York.  This session was so special because most of their family vacations are spent in Laguna Beach or Newport Beach.  I love that Isabella wanted to keep it really natural and organic.  Here are some of my favorites from her session.

Heisler Park High School Senior Portraits

Heisler Park and Picnic Beach Senior Portrait Session

Heisler Park is located on a gorgeous bluff overlooking picnic beach.  It is a perfect location for a High School Senior portrait session.  Orange County high school seniors always want a lot of variety in the background.  Since this park in Laguna Beach has both lush foliage and wide beaches it has the perfect variety.  With amazing vistas, gorgeous rock formations and long sandy stretches of beach your high school senior will get a variety of looks without having to go very far.

A few weeks ago I photographed the beautiful Alyssa both at Heisler Park and at the beach.  I just love Alyssa’s style and her big beautiful eyes.   The last session we celebrated with their family was 8th grade graduation, so seeing her change and grow into such a confident adult made my heart happy.  Here are just a few of my favorite images from her session.
