Laguna Beach Photography – Shoe La La

So it’s upon us……the Christmas/Holiday Card season.  Yes, we have been busy putting together and designing Holiday Cards already (so if you haven’t booked your photo session for Holiday Cards, contact us to do so!!).  But last week, Kristin and I took a break from the “‘Tis the Season” chaos to have some fun in her Laguna Beach Studio with my daughter.  For the past 2 years, my 7 year old daughter has been begging me to allow her to try on my shoes….”just once Mom, please?”.  After saying “ummm….no” countless times, I finally agreed to let her do it and get it out of her system.  Kristin was there to document it.  Now at least I have proof that indeed, she did get to do it once.  Enjoy!

Laguna Beach Children’s photography: Beautiful Abella!

Ms. Abella is a vibrant, funny, silly beautiful girl who I had the pleasure of capturing with my camera.  Although she was in treatment and lost all her hair, that did not stop her from radiating joy and enthusiasm for her “glamour” session!  When I dropped off her art work just last week she said to me, you know I LOVE the balloon pics, but I really loved getting my pictures taken the most!  Really, a girl after my own heart!  Much love and hugs to her whole family!  I am so honored to call you friends! Laguna Beach commercial photographer: Charisma Dolls: Take 2

I have a LOT of tricks up my sleeve after 10 years of owning Blue Sky’s Studio!  Most include bribes, telling stories, making silly faces, sneezing or …. reverse psychology!  All of these trick were EXTREMELY useful a few weeks ago at this commercial session from Adora Dolls!  I have been shooting for this company for several years, but we have never attempted to include babies and toddlers!  There was a lot of “this is my baby and you can’t hold it” to encourage the toddlers to hug the babies as well as peek a boo and fake sneezing.  The results, great portraits without anyone being the wiser to the craziness behind the scenes!

Love Is In The Air!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! We hope your day is filled with lots hugs, kisses and of course LOVE. Kristin and I had so much fun at our shoot for the Blue Sky’s mascots (i.e. Kristin and Sriti’s kiddos) for Valentine’s Day. The new studio has such phenomenal natural light and is such a fun space to use. I think Kristin captured our kids perfectly, don’t you?

What to do on a rainy day! Laguna Beach kids photography

What a cold, yucky day it was last Saturday!  The perfect day for an indoor photography session!  You may, or may not know that in November I moved into a small, North Facing studio.  The natural lighting in the studio is truly beautiful!  I also love the flexibility of being able to have sessions all day.  For this cute family, the rain stopped long enough for us to get a few, beautiful shots outside by my favorite old truck.  I have been playing with video for the past few years as a compliment to a photography session.  Check out this fusion slideshow to see both video and photography combined.  If you have done a kids session with me, you will definitely recognize the topic of conversation!  Enjoy!
