Day two at Rockledge was spectacular.  The wind was blowing just enough to kick up the bride’s veil, the light was lower in the sky and perfect for beach photography and the bride and groom were obviously very much in love!!!!   A big shout out again to Berit, from Makeup by Berit for doing a fantastic job once again on the makeup, thank you to Caroline from Robert and Taylor’s for doing a great job on the hair.  The beautiful lavender boutique was design by Weddings by Melia and the set up and yummy food was provide by An All Inclusive Event at Laguna Village.  All in all I would say that Villa Rockledge is just a dream for a photographer.  Each time I visit I find more stunning locations for portraits.  I am running back over there today for their open house.  If you are interested in attending, please visit their website at www.villarockledge.com.  Enjoy!

Sometimes when I slow down to think for a little while, I realize I have some really cute props, outfits, hats, etc… that I haven’t seen in a while.  Take this cute heart chair for example…. I love this chair.  When I found it I thought, “this will be great for sassy (yes, I know this is my favorite word) senior shoots, fun boudoir sessions and of course kiddo sessions.  But then, I got busy and piled lots of stuff in front of the chair and forgot about it for a while.   Sooo, when these great clients asked for something with a valentines feel, I thought, yes, I have a great chair that would be perfect in the park.  It was like finding an old friend and I got excited all over again.

The chair worked out great, as did the fun tutu and wings.  Anna and I don’t usually shoot in Irvine Regional park and now I am wondering why?  It was so beautiful with perfect afternoon light and the kids loved the pond and were really engaged during the whole session.  I am definitely adding Irvine Regional Park to my list of favorite places to shoot.  Thanks to these two cuties for making such great models.  Enjoy!

After a soggy few weeks, I was more than excited to get down to the beach for a beautiful engagement session.  Jessica and Rus were up for anything and mother nature certainly delivered.  Not only did we get a spectacular sunset, but we also got some mind blowingly big waves in the background.  I always love this secluded spot, and I was so glad that the beach goers cleared out as the sun was going down.  As an added bonus, we saw a family of dolphins playing right off the shoreline.  I think this was a good sign of things to come for these two.  I am really looking forward to their wedding this summer in Newport Beach!  Enjoy!

You may recognize Jessica…..she has been a great addition to the Blue Sky’s team.  She has a fantastic, take charge attitude and is always stellar when it comes to making sure everything is handled perfectly.  Anna and I had the pleasure of photographing her engagement session to wonderful Andrew.  They both were so much fun and never got tired of saying “SASSY”!!!!  I really appreciated the fact that prior to their session, they got permission from several shops that let us shoot inside their stores.  A big thank you to the beautiful Chandelier shop, Summer Hill Ltd and Country Roads Antiques for letting us take over their stores for about 15 minutes.  And a big shout out to  Orange Candy Company for the final images!  You should all definitely head over to Orange if you are in need of some beautiful antiques, some sweet treats or a stunning chandelier!  I also want to thank Stephanie Werner for doing a great job on Jessica’s makeup!

Wow, I really love shooting in January and February.  As most of you know, these are the months that we book our creative sessions.  Typically we spend about an hour on a photography session, but for the months of January and February, we take our time and spend at least 2 hours on each session.  This give us plenty of time to walk around slowly at each location and find tons of great areas to shoot in.  It also makes every session very unique!

I met up with these super cute kiddos last Sunday morning in Newport Beach.  It was one of the first beautiful days of the year and perfect weather for a bright, colorful session.  Of course, we brought our super cute pettiskirts and other fun accessories to give the session a little pizazz.   I love how great both of these kids were at giving me the pouty model face that I so love!  Thanks so much Heather for getting up bright and early!  Enjoy!
