This was the shoot that almost didn’t happen!  Bob and I had a relaxing dinner with the Chris, Mary Pat and family and I thought I would be able to do a quick beach shoot immediately after.  However, the weather was NOT cooperating last week.  It is a good thing that this fantastic family was soooo flexible!   They were only in Laguna for a week and we managed to squeeze in a great photo shoot on the last night of their trip.  Better to wait for beautiful lighting than to have so so images.  Well I think waiting paid off!  Thanks for coming out to play on the beach with me.  I can’t wait to finish the wall collage for Pete and Gerry!

I was a little worried about this shoot.  The weather has been so BLAHHHHHHH and these two made the trek down from Valencia to meet me and (lucky for me) they trusted me enough to book their engagement shoot on the same day.  Believe it or not at 3:00 PM on Sunday, the sun peaked through the clouds for the first time in two weeks in Laguna and we were able to get tons of great shots.  I always think it is fun when the couple in nervous about the pictures when they first arrive and then within 10-15 minutes they are laughing and enjoying each other.  This was so true for Kristen and Kirk.  I felt like they were old friends, and Kristen even dealt with bugs (don’t tell her, but Anna and I did see many spiders during the shoot) and Kirk fought off bees.   They are getting married next year at one of my favorite venues, An All Inclusive Event at Laguna Village and I know that they weather good fortune will follow them to their wedding day!  Thanks to both of you for being such good sports!

Okay, I know I always say “the best thing about being a photographer is…….”, but I have one more favorite reason to be a photographer… watching beautiful children grow up into fabulous adults.  Catherine has been bringing her girls to Blue Sky’s for photographs on a white background each year.  These images mark their growth each year and always have at least one image with their toes showing (if you know me, you know that I LOVE bare feet)!  Her daughter is all grown up and just got married in Napa Valley…..but she did not want to miss the final image of the series of her daughter in her wedding dress on the white background!  I think she is just beautiful!

This little cutie helped me out several weeks ago when I wanted to try out my new set.  I am finally getting around to posting some of these images.  She is an absolute sweetheart, and I LOVE her Mama too!   Her mom has been helping me with graphic design and I think she is doing a fabulous job.  Hopefully some of you received our new mini magazine, “Clicking with Kristin” (yes, I know, it has the same name as the blog).  This little gal’s Mom designed it for me.  Please feel free to leave comments here ’cause we would love to know what you think!  Also, just an FYI these are the set we will be using at the Saks Fifth Avenue Mother/ Daughter Fashion Event on June 5!

Last weekend Anna and I hurried down to An All Inclusive Event to take some detail shots at a 50th Birthday Party.  All I know is that I would be thrilled to have my 50th in such a fantastic location.  Typically this area is used for Weddings, but it is also a great spot for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events and memorial services.  I think Terilyn did a fantastic job styling out this spot, especially all the gaming areas…..  Hopefully we will have lots of images from this venue, as I LOVE to shoot in my own backyard.  Thanks for including us!  If you would like to book an event at this venue, head over to their website by clicking here An All Inclusive Event at Laguna Village.  If you book a wedding and use Blue Sky’s Studio, you will receive a free engagement sitting and a free 11×14 mounted portrait!

Here are some of the details from the event:
