As time goes by I am more and more appreciative of the great people that surround me in my life. Success is hard independently, but when you have a brilliant team to rely on not only is it easier, it is also tons more fun. Laura Foster is a member of our amazing team. She is so talented, especially where hair is concerned. She and I have decided to team up on everything from weddings to modeling sessions. I highly recommend that you visit Laura before any photography session with Blue Sky’s Studio. For this photography session, not only did Laura do a great job on three different hair styles, but she also provided lost of the clothing inspirations and hair accessories and most importantly, she provided the sassy couple to model for us. I am thrilled with how all of the images turned out and I am so thankful that we spent the whole day on the session. My gal Cheryl at Radiance Artistry provide the retro makeup! Thanks to everyone for making this a great Blue Sky’s Studio styled session!

My first thought on arriving at the Surf and Sand to photograph Kirk, his family and his groom’s men, was…. who is using those amazing cars for their wedding.  Lucky me!  It was Kirk and Kristen.   Although the skies were overcast, it was a beautiful, warm day.  Perfect for an outdoor wedding at Laguna Village, An All Inclusive Event!  We made our way down to the bridal suite to find Kristen and her gals, a little nervous but so excited.  Let me just say this.. her wedding dress was spectacular!  I know she worked really hard dieting and exercising before her big day to look breathtaking in her wedding dress, and all I can say is Mission Accomplished.   The ceremony was so lovely and sweet.  You can see, and feel, from the ceremony photography how much these two really love each other.   Kristen was such a good sport to follow me down to the beach (even though in her words she is NOT a nature person).  I know it was worth it!  Enjoy some of the highlights from their wedding day!

The day started just a little gloomy and we feared perhaps the rain would come in….but by the afternoon, true to May Gray’s form, the sun was breaking through the clouds.  The great news for both Sarah and Shawn was that the overcast light was a perfect compliment to the bright colors they chose for their wedding at Laguna Village.    Not to mention that everyone looks beautiful in wedding photographs that are taken in soft, even light!  Sarah’s two boys helped her get ready and fussed about as if they were the parents for the day.  Sarah, surrounded by her friends and adoring parents, looked beautiful.  Shawn, although a little nervous, was beaming.   Emily and I really enjoyed the beautiful day… topped off by a crazy good dance from Sarah’s son and Mom!  Enjoy!

My beautiful friend Julie owns the website Call Me California!  She has amazing style and I think she makes a really fierce model!  My friend Laura Foster provided hairstyling for the session and Cheryl from Radiance Makeup provided the makeup.  Great job team!  Can’t wait to work with you all in the future.  Enjoy!

The wind was howling and the tide was high…..I was sure that we would have to move Tricia and John’s engagement shoot to another beach, but we decided to head down and check out the beach anyway.   I adore that particular beach because you can get so many different looks and landscapes out of just a small area.  Lucky for me… this was one of the only beaches protected from the wind and there was hardly anyone on the beach!  Sooo….my beautiful beach, a fabulous couple and sail boat blue seas, everything I could ask for in a photography session.   Not to mention, that I am a sucker for tattoos on beautiful people and these two delivered!  Enjoy!
